Arusha is a city in northern Tanzania, situated at the foot of Mount Meru and about 80 kilometers from Mount Kilimanjaro. It is the capital of the Arusha Region and is often referred to as the "safari capital" of Tanzania due to its proximity to several national parks and wildlife reserves.
